Sarah Evers Conrad to Speak at the 2019 American Hippotherapy Association Conference

LEXINGTON, KY, March 22, 2019 – As a lifelong equestrian journalist and a digital marketer, Sarah Evers Conrad is set to speak about “Working with the Media to Promote Your Business” at the American Hippotherapy Association’s 7th International Biennial Conference at 10:30 a.m. on March 23 at the Griffin Gate Marriott Hotel and Spa in Lexington, KY.

This one-hour classroom-style session will discuss the benefits of media exposure, ways to work with the media, how to pitch stories to editors, how to form relationships with editors and writers, how to prep for an interview and photo shoot, do’s and don’ts for an interview, how to promote the final media piece, the importance of press releases, and how to integrate media exposure and content into a marketing strategy.

“As a member of the media who also works with small businesses, I am so excited to share my experience and knowledge about how brands and individuals can gain additional recognition and showcase themselves as an expert in their field through media exposure,” said Conrad. “This presentation has a lot of tips for professionals, not just from my experience as a journalist, but also with insight from additional top-notch journalists within the equine industry.”

Sarah Evers Conrad has an extensive background in magazine publishing, feature writing, news and event coverage, editing, photo sourcing, public relations, and more. Over her nearly 20-year career, she has also gained experience in digital marketing, social media, content marketing, and website management. Conrad has also been a speaker at the Certified Horsemanship Association's International Conference, the American Horse Publications Conference, and at the Kentucky Horse Council's Recreational Rider Day.

Conrad has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Western Kentucky University with a double major in Agriculture with an Equine Science emphasis. A lifelong equestrian, she started her career at Blood-Horse Publications with The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health Care magazine. She then became immersed in the world of equestrian sports at the United States Equestrian Federation as the Managing Editor of Equestrian magazine and later as the Director of E-Communications. Conrad then spent three years as a content manager/travel writer for a Caribbean travel agency before she opened her own business, All In Stride Marketing.

Conrad’s work has appeared in Horse Illustrated, The Horse, Blood-Horse, Equestrian, Arabian Horse Life, USDF Connection, the American Quarter Horse Journal, the Paint Horse Journal, Off-Track Thoroughbred, American Farriers Journal, Stable Management, and on

Conrad is the current editor for the Certified Horsemanship Association’s (CHA) annual magazine, The Instructor. She has also edited several books, including CHA’s “The Equine Professional Manual—The Art of Teaching Riding,” which was awarded an American Horse Publications Equine Media Award in the non-fiction book category.

Conrad has covered a plethora of events within the horse industry, including the Kentucky Derby, the Breeders’ Cup, the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event (now the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event), the American Association of Equine Practitioners Annual Convention, the International Hoof-Care Summit, the USEF Pony Finals, the Adequan/FEI North American Youth Championships, the U.S. National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show, and the World’s Championship Horse Show.
